Horse Achievement Levels
The Kansas 4-H Horse Standard of Excellence consists of four achievement levels (I, II, III, IV), each of which contains three sections: knowledge, leadership, and horsemanship skill attainment.
Once participants successfully pass the written and leadership requirements, they may take the ground skills test. Once all required sections are complete, they will receive certification and achievements and be granted the right to advance to the next level.
The cost for each horse level is $10 and must be sent to the State 4-H office along with the member's cover sheet after successful completion of the online written test.
Seniors (4-H ages 14-18) and Intermediate (4-H ages 9-13) youth who wish to participate at the District and/or State Horse Show must pass prior to entry deadlines for their District Show.
